After two years of postponements the SHS Classes of 1965 and 1967 held a JOINT REUNION AND CAMPUS PICNIC on October 8th and 9th, 2022
Graduating Class of 1965--
Skyline High School, Oakland, California
In the summer of 1961, the city's newest high school took shape on a rainy, windy and often foggy location. SHS65 finished four years later.
Plenty of us ran the bleachers for punishment and conditioning. Has the effect lasted?

What was it Like?
From the campus, our view to the west was spectacular. Three of the Bay's most famous and picturesque bridges could be seen, along with the curvature of the Earth on the clearest days. To the east, Mount Diablo dominated the inland coastal hills and valleys, sometimes dressed in snow during the colder storms of winter. The fog that so often enveloped our campus, particularly at night, was so common and so thick that a mile-long section of Skyline Boulevard just south of the campus actually contained marker lights embedded within curbs on both sides of the divided road for safety. |
Academics & School Organization--
In addition to class structure based on grade levels, Skyline's Greek theme further divided all Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors into five "houses," each with its representative student government, staff counseling, and supervision. Academic achievement received strong support at the school, producing a number of National Merit Scholars and a high number of award and scholarship winners from many competitions.
