Former Commissioner of Assemblies Tim Hallahan organized another luncheon that was held at the Drunken Boat Restaurant on Telegraph in Berkeley for SHS 65ers. His list of invitees is now over 30 and your Webmaster bets that if you forward a request to this website, you can be added to that list.
Attendees joining Tim this time were Jay Francis, Lucia Milburn, Doug Hachtel, Emmy Johnson, Michael Gardner, Jeff Kennedy, Larry Ginsburg, and Diana Baldocchi. Nine others RSVP'd their regrets, most of whom attended previous luncheons. There were lots of individual conversations and one topic on the minds of most was 2015's 50th class reunion.

It finally happened. After at least 15 years of unsuccessful searching for SHS65's Anna Duran, who was my "big" boss in student traffic patrol at Oakland's Markham Elementary in the 1950s— she found me (and by extension, all of us) when she found this web site. I've put her in touch with her old girlfriends, and they are burning up the email electrons as we speak—catching up on old times.
This is a reminder of why this Web site exists, and my hope is that it finds others we've never heard from who are wondering, "Will there be a 50th reunion?" Some may call the school office, and others will find this web site. But either way, the odds of us being able to visit with each other in the fall of 2015 will increase— so keep that timeframe open.

I spent some time with Larry Garrison while in high school and was never able to locate him for reunion purposes. But, his former girlfriend had taken him to Red Bluff a couple of times to her aunt and uncle's place on the Sacramento River.
I asked this classmate a couple of years ago if she had any information on how to find Larry and she said no. But recently, in a conversation with her relatives, Larry's name came up and it turns out he'd been writing her aunt regularly for over 40 years. So, bingo— I finally got his email address from her. Just finished a 30 minute conversation with him, and it was great. Funny how these small world stories turn out.

Long-time Skyline High School Assistant Track Coach Milt Wiener passed away this day at age 97. He was also the father of our class' Babs (Wiener) Davis. If memory serves, one of his specialties was the cross country event and the Skyline teams led the OAL during the years our class was on the hill. Track standouts Mike Ferguson, Jay Francis, Dave Owen and Bill Landreth (along with many others) did us proud with Milt's help. May he be walking the soft cindered track surface in heaven as you read this.
Thursday 1/10/13--
Just into 2013 and we are approaching the neighborhood of two years from now that final preparations will be underway for our 50th class reunion. The postmortems from participants at our 45th requested an emphasis on "visiting" as the primary objective of future reunions. Hopefully, the core group of planners that has coalesced will take that into consideration.
Your Webmaster will orchestrate an effort in concert with the talented Eve Steccati to produce multiple copies of a half-page glossy flyer that will announce our intention to produce a 50th reunion. They will be sent to the central office at Skyline for posting near phones so that anyone calling in to see if there will be a 50th will be directed to this Web site for details. Considering the large number of our "missing," we hope that some will look at their calendar, wonder, and make that call to the office. Again, you are invited to visit the "Find 'em" link above to help us locate the heretofore invisible.
