B.A.R.T Connection
From OAK & SFO airports
If you are flying in from a distance, you're going to have to arrange ground connections for transportation. If your arrival point is Oakland International you can access the BART system from there because there's an overhead-based, short-line rail connection between OAK and BART's Coliseum station called AirBART. From there, you can go anywhere on the BART system you desire from the OAK Air Terminal by crossing the multi-lane loop road on foot, then taking an escalator upward to the AirBart Station. This people-mover docks at the southern end of the Coliseum station.

A few words of reminder about the BART system: Boarding any one branch of the system does not guarantee a no-train change event to reach your intended destination. The Blue Line from Pleasanton cannot get you to SFO without a train change at Daly City. And the Yellow line from Bay Point cannot get you to Lake Merritt Station (where our hotel shuttles meet you) without a change of trains at either MacArthur or 19th street Stations.
Sometimes, you could be on one line and the other one you need passes on an accessible part of the same platform. But look for the three white dots along the routes. They are main transfer stations that allow you to transfer between any of the colored lines featured on the system map at left.
The Yellow Line from Bay Point is the only straight-thru run to SFO and return.
If you are flying through SFO, BART has a Yellow Line that takes you to the brink of the terminals where it meets a rail-based people-mover called AirTrain. This conveyance makes a loop around the airport's terminals so that with less than ten minutes of walking, you can reach anywhere in the public spaces of the facility. The International terminal is extremely close, other distances vary, depending on your airline (check which gate your plane will dock at—then you'll know).
A Travel Example— You intend to fly into SFO but you don't want to be without a car during Reunion Weekend. What to do? Avoid SF Peninsula traffic, bridges and tolls. Take BART to an EastBay location and rent your car there. Ride to that EastBay station and have Enterprise meet you, OR ride to Coliseum Station, take AirBart to Oakland International, walk in and rent from that location.
